Pay off the debt you already have that has made your credit score low, and that will help raise it. And borrowing isn't "paying it off", it's just moving the debt around.

I went with a place called Chruchwood financial to consolidate my existing credit. They make you shut down your current bank and start up with a completely new one. I happened to move house in this time and all the mail for my bad credit went to my mums and my good credit went to my new house. I managed to get a egg card and a capital one. Babes.. one piece of advice. Every month £250 comes out my ccount to pay for my old debts and consolidate them. £250!!! thats a lot of partying, clohtes and even a mortage payment. I will be paying that for many years. It certianly wasnt worth the bad credit and being skint to get a quick grand to go on holiday. Another piece of advice the companies like welcome finance and other companies that claim they will give you a loan when no other will is because they have massive massive apr. they thrive on people like us that need the credit to go to them. Let me put it simply.. it got a £1000 loan when I was 18, I then topped it up with another £1000 I was paying them £190 a month, after 2 years I though hey wait a miniute I had doubled what I borrowed and still paying it back. My tip is now when im completely broke and need some money.. i take on a third or fourth job as a waitress or bar maid for a month or so and earn my £1000 it feels so much better to spend that. believe me babes.. if i could take anything back it would be all those stupid loans i got when i was young!
