Are there any educational loans for familys with bad credit?

Just wanna know if i can find a loan compny how doesnt need a super credit applicant to get a loan for school.

most loans in any industry require some type of credit check. lenders are taking a risk by giving out money so they have to weigh that risk by some type of measurement which would be a credit check again this is not just in the educational industry this is anywhere more money is lent. However Federal loans like the Stafford loan are not credit based because the govt is like your cosigner per say and they guarantee the loan to the lenders so lenders are ok giving it out the money with out a credit check. Now a days a Stafford loan will not get you through college. A PLUS loan is a loan for parents and it is credit based but it is also backed by the govt so the credit check is not as tough as lets say a car loan or home loan. There is not debt to income ratio on this loan and no collateral is needed like a home quity loan. All the lenders look for is black marks on the report. And if they exist most lenders can work with the parents to provide documentation that those blackmarks have been taken care of or are bein taken care of by way of payment plans, etc... But on all that apply for scholarships and financial aid to reduce the amount you need in loans. www.collegeanswer.com is a good site to help you with scholarships and other info on how to finance your education. Your best source is always your financial aid couneslor.

the school you attend should have a financial aid office that will provide you with loan information.

apply for federal aid at http://fafsa.ed.gov/. you will then get information on grants you qualify for as well as eligibility for federal stafford loans. these are guaranteed by the government and do not require a credit check. you wouldnt be eligible for private loans because of your bad credit unless you found a co-signer with good. also be sure to do a web search for specific types of scholarships you are eligible for (ex: american indian decent, minority female, etc). check with your local vfw or similar agency to see if they offer any scholarships to needy families.
